It depends. Not to take away from Fyre & Reign's or anyone else's take on this question, but if I take the time to thoroughly think out a solution to someone's problem & give a correct answer (for example, I answer in the Internet & Myspace categories a lot), then I may be pissed if the guy that wrote "I like pie" got voted as best just because he was the first one to answer.

It's not that the points mean a lot to me, but the thought that when someone searches a question on here, & they see a ridiculous answer written that's chosen as best, it takes away from the quality of the site, (because it doubles as a reference source) & not to mention, the effort & time you took to write your answer.

I guess you could say it's specifically the voting process I have issues with, because anyone can make 2, 3, or 1000 accounts & give themselves however many votes they want without being stopped, even when their answers are garbage or incompetent. We can't maintain 100% as our best answer average, but it can be nerve-racking when you deserved to be picked, & you weren't.

I used to get a little frustrated, if I had the correct answer, and an incorrect or non answer gets voted best answer.

In cases where I take the time to troubleshoot someone's code, find the bug, and then test the solution; and they don't bother to pick a best answer, it irritates me.

But in cases where I think I have the best answer, and someone else has a correct answer, It doesn't bother me at all.

As far as having any strong emotions, related to this trivial forum, it is not healthy, and pointless.
(I tell myself that whenever I find myself angry or frustrated at the result of something.)

No, of course not! The fact some people who beat me out for "best answer" have died under mysterious circumstances is purely a coincidence. I had nothing to do with it!

Same for the askers who didn't give me "best answer." They were just unlucky. Don't let that superstitious fear of retaliation keep you from awarding "best answer" as you see fit.

ROTFLMAO! No, honestly, I don't care. It's not like the points are worth anything. Before they wrongfully suspended my Level 7 account, I had 102,000 points but what did that get me? Nothing but a bunch of trolls aiming to knock me down.

It's not like Yahoo gives you a Corvette when you hit 100,000 points or anything.

No, I never expect it; I am happy if I feel like I am helping someone. I am happy if I amuse myself with my answer.

That said, I do love finding out when I am chosen as best answer. :) It is always a nice surprise, and a way to justify the time I am on here. :)

I hope this helps! :)

No, sometimes I get a little grumpy if I thought my answer was really good, but it doesn't bother me.
