So the past few years we have hosted a new year's eve party at our house. This year, 2 friends of ours who just bought a brand new house offered to have the party at their house, and I didn't mind because things have been a little tight financially with us this year. Anyway, when I talked to my friend, she said she was inviting one couple that came to our party before, but not another. I don't think she is purposely excluding them and she probably just forgot. I don't think this other couple has any plans for New Year's, so would it be rude of me to ask my friend to invite this other couple to her party?

well that depends. are your friends close to those hosting the party? it's ok to gently ask. so for example casually " oh hey (x) i was just wondering did you invite the y's to your party? have you talked to them lately?

if they say no or hint at it drop the subject
but if they just forgot, then they should invite them
good luck!!

Well, maybe just drop a hint that she might have forgot someone. Maybe she did want to exclude them purposely, reserve your judgment till the end. Don't say that she should invite them, and no, being concern is not rude. Go for it.

Have a Happy and Safe New Year!

I think your friend forgot to invite the other couple. Sometimes people tend to forget when they're planning a party or something. You can remind your friend to invite the other couple, i don't think anything's wrong with that.

Shes probably doesn't like the other couple anymore so that why she didn't invite or mention them.

You can certainly suggest it. The big error would be inviting the other couple yourself.

Well try asking her if she really was intending to invite them. maybe she just forgot.
and if that person was really your friend then she wouldn't think it was rude. just in case, tell her you didn't mean it in a bad way.
