I agree that they are adorable but it seems like you are overlooking a key detail. Those adorable baby tigers grow up into HUGE (300 - 500 pounds) adult DANGEROUS tigers. Even well trained tigers are still wild animals and are very dangerous. You can never fully trust them as they can easily turn on you and can injure and kill you quite easily.

I know they are cute but stick to just visiting the zoos and watching the Animal Planet. Tigers, babies or adults, do NOT make good pets, EVER! Consider a domestic cat or dog if you want a pet.

Here is a link you should check out:

This is what the cute baby tiger will grow into. Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE animal lover with a special passion for the large cats, especially tigers. They are beautiful and graceful creatures that are sadly heading for extinction. However, I know that they cannot be made into pets and are best left in the care of experts.

Consider looking into a career where you can work with big cats in a zoo setting or something similar but please give up the idea of "having" a baby tiger.

Sweetie First to even think about raising a tiger cause that's what you'd be doing not just feeding it a bottle. I have a friend who does raise tigers and like some one said it is a 24/7 job. When they are cubs you get up every 3 hours to feed them just like a baby. You have to make sure they pee by rubbing their genitals with a paper towel. I'm serious here not perverted which is what I thought the first time I heard this. They have very delicate health so you have to be careful with them they can grow as much as a pound a day in just a few months you have a large kitten with sharp teeth and claws that doesn't realize the damage they can do to human skin. Not to mention to even legal have a tiger you need to have taken some very expensive classes to get certified then spend $8-10,000 to buy one from a breeder who would never sell them to you with out proof of experience. So unless you have about 2 years and $40,000 dollars to spend on a "cute baby" tiger you may want to reconsider and see if there is anyone in you area who raises them and just volunteer with someone who has a clue about what to do.

Why don't you take a minute to think about something other than what YOU want - maybe like what's best for that cute little tiger that you like. First of all, tigers are endangered and belong in the wild or in a facility with people who are educated in the proper care of such an exotic animal. Secondly, what makes you think you could ever handle a full grown tiger, let alone afford to feed one? You need to grow up - a LOT - before you even think of getting a house cat, never mind a tiger! Just for once, think of someone other than yourself.

Yes they are cute when they're little but they grow up, Do you have the time to spend with them 24-7. That's what you have to do to make them so you can be around them. Do you realize yo will not be able to have any other animals as the tiger will see them as food. People like you that want something without thinking it through is why so many exotic animals are being rescued, cause the idiots that got them don't want them or can't take care of them when they grow up. Wild animals are meant to be in the wild not at your house! I have raised bobcats and they were a handful but I had the knowledge and know how to do it do you? You sound like a little kid that has to have a new toy an animal is not a toy it's a responsibility!

You sound like my 13 year old daughter.

BUT just to answer your question as if you were really an adult with an intelligent question, you do not or can not domesticate a tiger. Remember Siegfred and Roy? But you can domesticate a Cheetah. They are the only big cats that are known to be able to be domesticated. But you have to have a special permit to own one. Check with your local police as to the laws in your city about owning wild or dangerous animals.

Did you not see the news today? There was a tiger than got out of the San Francisco zoo somehow and killed a 17 year old boy, and injured 2 other people.

Tigers are not pets.....not at all. And to try and make them into one is cruel to them. They are wonderful creatures that deserve to have a happy and free life.

Sorry, I am on hubby's side on this issue.

First make sure you're skilled enough to manage a baby tiger. You have to understand their health issues, their personalities and psychologies, their diet, etc. Then consider whether or not you will be able to handle an 800 pound tiger in a few months. Also consider if you would be financially able to FEED an 800 pound tiger in a few months, lol! I want one too, they're just soooooo adorable. But I know I don't have the knowledge or skills to do so. So I'll stick with my kitty! :-D

I'm a sucker for any big cats, especially the babies!

A tiger just escaped a zoo in San Francisco and killed a person...injured 2 others.

You might want to rethink this.

Yes maybe you could work for a zoo or something.

An adult, female tiger just killed one man last night in San Francisco Zoo and mauled two other men...

These are very gorgeous and beautiful animals, but they are nature's animals.. not domestic at all... They are very unpredictable and can turn on a person at any given time.

Baby tigers ARE adorable... perhaps you could work with them somehow?
