I guess every place differs, but what is the quality of life where YOU life? I'm from New Jersey. i've also lived in NY and CA. All I can say is, the quality of life somewhat sucks. You have to put up with lots and lots of people wherever you go, traffic, crowded malls, crowded movie theaters, crowded restaurants and places to dine out, lots of attitude, no respect for life.

The quality of life from my opinion feels pretty low, and sub-standard, and only the upper class and the upper-middle class can nowadays enjoy anything remotely close to luxurious in this country.

If you're not in these upper echelons, the lowest being the upper middle class, then you most likely have to struggle, put up with sub-par, trashy people, poorer living conditions and basically crap all the time.

To me, living in New Jersey is like living in hell. The people resemble demons, honestly I think they are, in human form, and the environment resembles the Styx.

NY/CA vary.

how about you guys?

The middle class is getting smaller and so quality of life is not as good as before. Everything is getting expensive. Jobs are unstable without any pensions. Evil is upon us!! j/k

I agree, to a point. I've lived in L.A. my whole life, and I visit NY/NJ regularly. It is tough because of all the people, crowds, high prices, and so on. There are two sides to every story, though. If you lived in a smaller, less crowded place, often, the stores, restaurants, malls, movie theaters, etc. close very early. If I want to go out at midnight for something at the drugstore I can do that here in Los Angeles (or Manhattan, when I'm there). It's a real pain in the behind when things are closed when you really need/crave something.

Have you ever heard the story of the person who thought the people where he lived were unhappy and so he moved to a new place but they were like the last, and so the story goes. The people were like that wherever he went. You know why? Because it was HIS perspective and what he chose to see; it was in his mind. I don't care for the crowded city life like you describe; I live in a rural area in CA close to a fairly small town and it's pretty peaceful but not lucrative financially. I sacrifice finances for peace of mind.

I love NYC but had to retire to Florida to afford living. Zombies, all zombies.
