These are some vampire series/novels I have read.
Vampire Kisses -Ellen Schreiber
The Silver Kiss - Annette Curtis Klause
Sunshine by Robin McKinley
Companions of the Night - Vivian Vande Velde
Tantalize- Cynthia Leitich Smith
Blue Bloods - Melissa De La Cruz
Marked (House of Night, Book 1) - PC Cast
Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires, Book 1) by Rachel Caine
Peeps - Scott Westerfeld
Vampire Academy - Richelle Mead
most books by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes (e.g. Demon in My View, Midnight Predator)
Companions of the Night by Vivian Vande Velde
Most of these books are YA (Young Adult), but they are really, really good! If you want more you can look on Amazon Listmania! or So You'd Like To... lists. They are really helpful. (I am an Amazon fiend!)

Most of the good vampire books have been recommended, but I've read a great book called The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. A good pirates book would be one called Pirates! by Celia Rees. Unfortunately, there's not a lot of teen or adult pirate books out there...most of the books are for kids, but this book is fantastic. There's also True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Avi.

Vampire books I have heard of, but never read:
"The Vampire Lestat"
"The Count of Monte Cristo"
"Vampire Kisses" (Series)
"Interview with the Vampire" (I think Lestat is actually in this one and then the other one is all about him ... not sure. As I said, haven't read.)
I hope you enjoy! I love Twilight. And if I might add something, most people, including me, who like "Twilight" like the "Uglies" series. It has "Uglies", "Pretties", "Specials", and "Extras", all by Scott Westerfeld. They're not about vampires, but maybe you'll try reading anyway?

Vampire Chronicles by applying Anne Rice. they may be somewhat progressed for you although once you're into Twilight. yet you may desire to verify out Pirates by applying Celia Rees. it quite is a pair of product proprietor's daughter, Nancy Kington, who's compelled to circulate into hiding together with her lifeless father's slave, Minerva Sharpe, on board a pirate deliver. they're pursued by applying this Jamaican guy who desires to marry Nancy, who's heavily evil. i think of you will like this e book, and the different of Celia Rees's books.
