I've been to Canada many times and most people there are ok, but something that really bothers me is when a Canadian (or anyone else who isn't American, but it's usually Canadians) who feel the need to comment on the second amendment. Canadians never shut up about guns in America and they are always saying b/s like "those yanks are all gun loving freaks" ... "I couldn't live in the USA, I would be scared of being shot in my own home" ... "Canadian cities are so much safer, we only have 2 murders a year but in an American city they have like 10 trillion murders a year eh". Even worse are the one’s who blame Americans for gun crime in Canada.

Why don't they mind their own business? Why do they feel the need to comment on a right/freedom/law of a country they don’t live in?

Actually, Canadians have slightly higher rifle ownership than Americans do, although WAY less handguns. Total result is only slightly fewer firearms per person than we have in the U.S.

But they have WAY fewer mass killings.

An honest Canadian, or for that matter, an honest American, would have to admit that their social welfare system, which encourages people to feel PART of their society, with benefits like universal health care, and their culture, has more to do with their having fewer killings of this sort than gun ownership does.

As far as OTHER criticisms of the U.S. go, if YOU lived next door to a seven-foot-tall bully with a persecution complex and a fortune to finance hitmen to get revenge for that "persecution," you might say a thing or two against him, too.

And since the Canadians, just like Americans, don't have a mass socialist internationalist movement, their criticisms of us are couched in nationalist and chauvinist terms, that I'm not surprised you find offensive. I don't enjoy getting hit with it myself, although I TRY to remember that it's actions by my BOSSES they are angry at, not mine.

However, look at OUR complaints addressing the difficulties of our working people. We don't have a mass socialist internationalist movement EITHER, so we use nationalist and racist terms to complain about Mexican immigrants, instead of addressing the wealthy Americans who are screwing us all.

Without real socialist reconstructions, Americans, Canadians AND Mexicans are doomed to suffer this kind of stupid sniping, while we all work for the super-wealthy, and our kids die in their wars.

Because Canada is full of smug liberals, that look down their nose at everyone with a differing viewpoint.

Whoever told you that Canadian cities with large populations are safer than their US counter parts are full of BS. Not to mention, Canada has about as many gun owners as the US.

You should go to Europe sometime. It is really bad over there. The kids there think we invaded Germany in WWII to take over Europe!!! I am not making this up!!

I finally figured out my German friend was telling people that I was a lazy American (in German). When I would hear him say it, I would make faces behind him and get the people laughing. He never caught me, so he thought he was being funny.

I don't know why they can't mind their own business.
I do know that we should start minding our own since their dollar is now worth more than ours is. We have a lot of things to get done in our own backyard without worrying about what Canadians think. Poverty, crime, oil dependence & lack of a decent single payor healthcare program are just a few issues that have to be tackled for our country to live up to its' promise.
