i just got back from friggin nj and am trying to wash our laundry. the drier was working fine but it sounded like it got all balled up inside so i opened the door to separate everything and when i closed the door and hit start again it didn't work. i know nothing about driers at all. i tried the circuit breaker and unplugging it and running it in various cycles but that's about all i can figure to do. should i just by a new drier? ours seems pretty old ... came with the house and the previous owners had 4 kids. should i just replace the washer too if i do the drier. it works fine but i guess a new one would be nice.

Although there are some things you could look for to try to get it going again, it sounds like you wouldn't mind a new laundry pair. I'd give myself a late Xmas present if I were you. Remember the more bells and whistles you get on the machines, the harder and more expensive they are to repair.

Pull the plug - open the front panel and blow it out - i bet some lint got caught up in the switch.
