DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water, and then stir in yeast. Allow to proof until yeast resembles a creamy foam.
Mix salt and oil into the yeast. Mix in flour one cup at a time. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth. Place in a well oiled bowl, and turn dough to coat. Cover with a damp cloth. Allow to rise until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.
Punch dough down. Knead for a few minutes, and divide in half. Shape into loaves, and place into two well oiled 9x5 inch loaf pans. Allow to rise for 30 minutes, or until dough has risen 1 inch above pans.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes.

INGREDIENTS
1) 2 cups white flour (and a little extra for kneading)
2) 1 cup whole wheat flour (for white bread, replace wheat flour with white)
3) 1 cup hot water
4) 1 package rapid rise yeast
5) 3 tablespoons sugar
6) 3 tablespoons nonfat dry milk
7) 1 tablespoon salt
8) 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
DIRECTIONS
1. Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees.
2. Mix 1 cup of white flour, the packet of yeast, 3 tablespoons sugar and 1 cup hot water in a large bowl
3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap. After about 10 minutes, the mixture will start to bubble as the yeast makes carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide produced by the yeast will make bubbles in the bread dough, making it bigger and fluffier.
4. While you're waiting for the yeast mixture to bubble, in a separate bowl, mix together 3 tablespoons nonfat dry milk, 1 cup of whole wheat flour, 1 tablespoon of salt, and 3 tablespoons of oil.
5. Add the rest of the ingredients
6. Add the other cup of white flour.
7. Take the dough out of the bowl and knead it for another minute on a floured surface. You might have to put some extra flour on your hands. Kneading makes the dough stretchy so it keeps its shape and gets a nice chewy texture.
8. When the dough looks smooth and kind of stretchy, it shouldn't stick to your hands anymore.
9. Now put the dough into a greased loaf pan, (or muffin tin for rolls) cover it loosely with plastic wrap and let it rise for about 30 minutes.
10. When the dough has risen, put it in the oven. Be sure to remove the plastic wrap.
11. After about 35 minutes, it should look golden brown.
12. Use an oven mitt to take it out of the oven and let it cool.
