Pretend marijuana was legal. Which would cause more health problems, accidents, etc.?

alchohol is more dangerous by far. us pot smokers want to go out and rob and do crimes but we figure we'll get a pizza and take a nap first.

It's hard to say. Most of the evidence would point to alcohol, but that is mostly because almost all of the evidence concerns alcohol. In other words, until marijuana is legal and used to the point that its effects are seen commonly in everyday society we will not know the answer to this for sure.

It is not even close - alcohol.
The only health problem with marijuana is inhaled smoke and the mild paranoia makes for careful drivers. Recent studies have indicated that it is not cancerous. Alcohol damages the liver and causes a complete loss of inhibitions meaning reckless driving, fights, etc. It is also a toxin and can kill outright.

From all I have read and heard Alcohol is the greater evil if there is one .

It would still be alcohol.

Even if weed has more toxins, a much smaller quantity is smoked by most of the people who enjoy it, so I think the public health impact from alcohol would still be greater.

intoxicants...as human beings we do seem to seek them out in so many forms. the issue of danger to society is no, legitimate, litmus test, as to allowing the masses to have access. but, it will always be cited as core reasoning why we can't.

Marijuana. Alcohol can be consumed in moderation. The whole purpose of smoking pot is to get stoned.
