Is double majoring in International relations and Environmental studies with a minor in bioengineering not worth it? do you think it is possible? how many years will this take to complete and will me having completed a minor show up anywhere on my degree?

Minors typically don't show on diplomas . . . it's something you have to put on your resume if you want recognition.

I suspect it would be trouble for you to double major that way. First of all, those are narrow fields. I don't think many universities offer both of them. Not that I've looked, since my interests are totally different from yours. And then, International relations is probably a liberal art. Environmental studies is a science. If the university that offers them is structured like most, then those aren't even in the same branch of the university. That makes it very difficult (probably impossible) to double major. This all depends on the university's policy, of course, but I suspect it would take you 5 to 7 years to finish such a program. If I had to guess, I'd guess 6 years. Good luck!

Double majoring in two closely related fields can take 5 years, double majoring in two unrelated fields can take 8. International relations and environmental studies will probably take 6 or 7.

I am a mechanical engineering student and there is no such thing as an engineering minor. To major in bioengineering would take 4 years.

It will be worth it if you pursue those as your major/minors. It is possible and will probally take 4-6 years. I would also look into the job market just for research. Then again, you doubt your decision by saying "not worth", meaning you really don't want to, but you are interest in it. If you have the passion and dedication to get into those programs, go for it girl!!!!!!!
