Elephants are not native to the Philippines. However, during the early 1990's, fossils of elephants dating back to thousands of years ago were found deep beneath the hills of Antipolo (outskirts of Manila). Scientists said this proved that land bridges existed before, connecting the Philippines to Malaysia, Indonesia and another southeast asian country (I forgot which).

Elephants are not known to be found in the Philippines. The nearest countries where elephants can be found are in Indonesia, Malaysia, Indochina and India. These are the habitats for the Asian elephants.

I know for sure that elephants do not roam the Philippine countrysides. If we want to see some elephants, we visit the zoo or watch the circus.
