I have the a black iPod Nano from 2005. I get my music mostly from file sharing (i.g., LimeWire). It cost about $200 dollars, and I've had to replace the ear buds several times, and I bought a case for it once. Plus with iTunes cards and then purchasing an account with Apple iTunes, the whole expense has been over $300.

I have the 30 gig 5th gen click wheel ipod video that I've been using for almost 2 years now. Most of my songs where imported from my CD collection and the newer ones are either downloaded from limewire or bought from itunes. It all depends on how much I really want the song VS how good the quality of the song is.

I have a 2 gigabyte silver iPod nano, 2nd generation that I got from eBay for $76, plus $15 for shipping and handling. I bought it a year ago, I can't remember if it was new, used or refurbished but it worked great. I get my music from iTunes and my CDs, it's the easiest solution. Limewire and those other sites are illegal.

There are different types of iPods:
Nano Video
iPod Video
iPod Shuffles
iPod Touch
etc...
If you want to go crazy, get the iPhone, but then they're around $550 with a plan.
The prices all range depending on which iPod you decide to purchase. iTunes is where you get the music/movies/shows, but if you want to cheat the goverment download limewire or bearshare.
