I mean, I think most people will say "Give" but we all know it feels fabulous to recieve as well. There's pros of each, and very few cons.
When Giving gifts, you recieve that "warm, fuzzy, feeling" knowing you made someone happy, and if they really like your present, you just get an overall feeling of goodness.
When people receive gifts, they hopefully feel extremely grateful, and I don't know anyone who wouldn't agree, we all like getting stuff... which isn't a bad thing!
Gifts are nice (especially Christmas and other Holidays for everyone) because the giver gets a content feeling of pleasure, and the receiver gets that happy feeling of getting a gift.
Which is better? I'm not sure... I like to beleive they're pretty equal.

better to give than receive because you will get returns on your giving

give is always better because it shows that you think of others and not yourself. also when you give you will always receive something at the end

they say give but when you give someone (a sister and husband for example) a DVD player that you can record things on and they give you a $25 girft card to somewhere you never go (in that case the reciever gets a better deal)
