Ok so heres what i've limited my choices too. Two bearded dragons that are both a year old one is 11 inches the other is 8 inches for $50 which includes everything no cage but comes with a traveling cage. Or a blue tongue skink for $100+ shipping comes with nothing but the animal. But skink lives longer, i dont know which one to pick, which one would you pick? Also which one is friendlier, doesn't mind being held, etc. I would be getting the beardies tomorow, so i need to know now!

Those are small sizes for beardies that are supposed to be a year old! That indicates that they have not received the proper care, so if you get them, you might be nursing them back to health which can be a time and money consuming process!

Also, no one mentioned, that you shouldn't house two beardies together. NOT even to breed! Whoever said that you'd make back your money by breeding them is way off track.
You'd have to invest around $1000 in equipment to carefully care for the babies! (Incubators, multiple bins, lights, UVB bulbs etc. Not to mention the crickets! A baby can eat over 100 crickets a day! If you had ONLY 10 babies, that's a 1000 crickets a day!! Can you afford that!?)
Also, they are too young and TOO SMALL to breed. Breeding would likely kill a female who is that young and that small.
If they're both male, they would fight. Two females MIGHT fight. It's just not a good idea to house them both together, now matter what the gender combination.

PLease visit:
http://www.beardeddragon.org for good care sheets on how to care for them, or if you get the skink, please research that animal to give it proper care. Reptiles have a lot of specific requirements as far as heat, lights and food for them to thrive. Please research it thoroughly.

I'd go for the bearded dragons. Better deal. I got a blue-tongue skink for $80 from a store. Of course, I've seen bearded dragon go for $40 each. Plus, a pair is always more fun than one. If you can figure out how to breed them, you can get that $100 back easily with extra money in your pocket. Don't use the traveling case. Make sure you get a 55 gallon tank. Trust me, they will grow into it.

Skinks are not boring. They are just as exciting as bearded dragons, plus they look cooler. The price is too much though.

They both enjoy being held about the same. Both are extremely docile and friendly. My skink crawled onto my head and watched TV with me.

Go for the beardies, but don't think bad of the skink. He's cool too.

Definitely get two bearded dragons Skinks are quite boring and the more the merrier anyway. Skinks are really docile but Beardies are actually friendly although they have slightly more complex feeding requirements than the skink they are still recommended for beginner reptile owners.

$100 is average price for a blue tongue. beardies are usually about $50 each, so the beardies are the better bargain. They're both pretty friendly but I think you'd probably be happier with the beardies.
