Hey everyone, i was wondering if any current college students or past college students could help make me aware of a college that seems like a possible fit. It would be nice if the college were in Canada but if it had to be in America either in New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, or Maine. Big cities nor small towns make a difference to me as long as the college is diverse and accepting.
My "stats" are
Gpa- 3.5
SAT- 2000
ACT- 30
I am the president of my schools diversity club, i have gone on a national diversity conference for 2 years, environmental club
Interests- photography, filmography, environmental conservation
I am not sure if i will be taking AP courses (can someone also answer if these are really as important as they seem)
Thankyou for taking the time to even read this question, and i am sorry if the stats and questions like these bore you, its just that for some reason i am getting extremley nervous and i am only a highschool junior.

Syracuse University (has a great communications school which includes film & photography) and SUNY-College of Environmental Science & Forestry (many environmentally-related courses of study) are definitely colleges to consider if you are looking to study those fields. Both schools are in Syracuse, NY.

Taking AP courses is a great idea. It is looked upon favorably by colleges because is shows that you are willing to challenge yourself academically. Also, if you score high enough on the AP exam, you may get credit for certain courses based on the that particular college's criteria.

I would take AP courses to bring up your GPA a bit. Your SAT is good! You want a large school for the diversity aspect. I would try the SUNY Cornell as you might get in there. UMaryland at College Park is another good one, and possibly Penn State College Station. Maine might not be good for you, but perhaps Dartmouth as a stretch goal would be good--they really work for diversity!

If you take AP classes (which you really should), you could try NYU. You can also look at Hobart & William Smith, Syracuse, and Union (in NY)...in PA, take a look at Villanova, Haverford, and (as a reach) Swarthmore. In Maine, Bates is a really incredible college. If you want to be in Canada, McGill has a wonderful reputation.

Adelphi University on Long Island or Long Island University. Both are diverse and accepting as lame as those terms are. All universities in America are infested with liberal swine. Don't fall for the trap!
