Sturgeon's Law probably applies. Do you know about Sturgeon's Law? I've mentioned it in my answers several times; you can search on it.
Briefly, Theodore Sturgeon once said that 90% of everything is BS. I asked him in the late 1970s if 95% wasn't more realistic, and he agreed it was. My own current estimate is 99%.
Of course, that includes not only ones that are intentionally BS, but those that qualify even though the writer of the question was moderately serious.

Depends on who is looking at the questions. this a lot of perception. Look at young ones in school asking question about boy and girl friends. To some of these they are serious questions but to others they are just playing around. Depends on who you are to how many may seem serious. From my place less then 33% are serious.

I think most questions are silly junk like this - prolly about 10% real questions - I think the most asked is prolly "Am I pregnant" or "Does god exist" or variations on those two themes - these questions are asked at least a few times EVERYDAY !

I find some, especially in health, that are very serious. some questions you can tell people know what the answers will be. I don't check out too many other categories - I occasionally answer general questions that look interesting. probably 20% are serious questions.

What is boring silly junk to one, can be valuable information to another.
I would be quite interested to know the percentage of muppets on here...!!

truly serious ones are probably 35-40% of the questions. most of the other ones are for boredom, bunkam, etc.
