well, cookie monster sounds like "rawrarararwraramuansahsgahgs me sho hungry"
and metal vocalists sound like: "rarar raaaaa dundunddararararaaaaraahgjhsgjug"
so its pretty similar but not exactly the same.

Screamo and Grunt vocal bands do suck, You're right about that
You need to be listening to some real Metal like
Black Sabbath
Metallica
Iron Maiden
Judas Priest
All their vocalists sound NOTHING like the cookie monster, I guarantee You that.
