That is totally true and not silly at all. People tend to project their own feelings and intentions onto others. This is a psychological fact. Those who have the best intentions and do not lie also think others are the same. Many times very honest people are the victims of poor judgement of character in others. They have a hard time believing that others have bad intentions because they themselves never do. This is also true in the opposite domain. Those who often lie or are dishonest mistrust others because they project their own intentions and believe others think, feel and operate as they do.

Well I know I am so naive because I will believe just about everything a person tells me ( unless its ridiculous and farfetched) but for the most part, I get duped due to my own honesty. It just is hard to believe that people would not be honest. If a person is a known liar then I think a truthful person would catch on and not let him invade their lives

Just because a person is truthful does not mean that they can not see a liar for what they are.

I am sorry...but that is silly....Someone that is truthful has absolutely nothing to do with another person's truthfulness or lies....and whether they believe their words or not...

I should add that as parents we should teach our children to be truthful...so I would say if our parents were truthful then we LEARN truthfulness from them....but ultimately....we are responsible ourselves for the truths and lies that we choose to speak...
