I'ved checked the cartridges, uninstalled it, re-installed it, unplugged it and plugged it back in. It prints half a page and spits it out. Is it time for a new printer?

Probably the hardware inside the printer is becoming defective and needs to be checked, take it to a repair shop and see if they can do something about it, or it could be the software in your computer that is giving some bad information. Type in the name of the printer in the search section of your computer and see what comes up. Also if you know what day this started and you see something in the search column that look suspicious, go ahead and delete it.
