I agree..it wasn't it's fault. I think they had to act quickly because other people were in danger. Tigers shouldn't be in zoos to begin with. Sad story. I was going to change my avatar because I felt bad....but I decided to keep it.

I wish they could have tranquilized him instead of killing him!! I know they did what had to be done, but I feel Its not the tigers fault. He was taken out of the wild and put in our habitat! I wish he had not been able to kill or hurt, its just his nature. I also think that when he attacked his trainer at the beginning of this year, he should have been taken away from the public RIGHT then, instead of leaving him where he was. So it is kinda of the zoo's fault for not doing something at the first of the year. Such a tragic story all the way around!!

In a perfect world, maybe. It's tragic all around, from the Tiger to the victims.
Animals shouldn't ever be kept in an environment that isn't natural, but on the other hand, tigers are becoming more extinct (You know what I mean) every day, and the only way to save the species is in captivity, so we have a double-edged blade, don't we?I wish the tiger wasn't killed, but I also wish the tiger wouldn't have gotten out of it's area and killed that man. The officer was trying to protect himself, so it's hard to blame him.

I guess you don't realize that like all cats once they get a taste of human flesh they will do anything to kill again. I have been watching Wild Kingdom and such shows since I was a small boy and they say the same thing over and over. Once a big cat finds out how easy humans are as prey they will continue to kill unless put down.

It's real easy to have hind site and second guess, isn't it ? Especially when you were trying to find a tiger in the dark, and he came at you, you think a tranquilizer would stop the attack? Get real. They had already found one mauled dead person. Saw it attack for the second time another person. Geez I cannot believe you people.

Me of course, but there was not enough time to do so. And she was charging the police. I am sorry for the deaths and loss of life, but I can't blame the animal or the police. Tatiana wanted out, saw her chance, and took it. She was a predator and the humans were just in her way. It is a tragedy all around, and I hope they get to the bottom of it soon. Two injured, and a young man dead along with a beautiful cat. What a loss.

I think it is standard procedure that when an animal kills, that animal is killed.
A very sad tragedy, but I hope the three highest paid individuals at the zoo now have a project to keep them occupied, working and explaining.
Doing DNA analysis to see if anyt relation to O.J.!!!

Don't you think that if there was a chance that the tiger could've been tranquilized,it would have been. That tiger was in the process of attacking another human, and I believe what was needed to be done, was. No one wanted to see the tiger killed.

I never like to think of a tiger-or any other animal killed, but I wasnt there and it wasnt my husband or child that was killed. If they had a choice, I would hope they would have tranquilized it before shooting it. Maybe they didnt have that choice.

It was on the attack so in the interest of saving lives waste that sucker! Tigers are like house cats, a house cat would do the same darn thing if they could get away with it :)
