I heard it for the first time today and found it hillarious what do you think of this song. I thought it sounded a lot like something Johnny Cash would have sung.

this novelty song was a trade mark of Jerry Reed.Of the various artist that would have sounded good with this I'd have to go with Ray Stevens,but Jerry has the voice that makes this a beleivable story.

Great song. I love the ending when the bird sings "On the Road Again" and Jerry's screaming, "My Bird!", "My 500 Dollars!"
