Our galaxy has 200 billion stars: more than 30 for every person in the world. And it is only one of many galaxies.
With those odds it's almost certain there are living things and thinking things on other worlds. I find it difficult to imagine that of all the trillions of planets out there Earth is the only one on which intelligent beings exist.

A living thing NEEDS liquid water, energy, and a life source such as a comet. There are planets like Earth that can support life such as Gleise 581g, but it is too far away for us to do anything about it. Im certain that there should be life somewhere out there in a planet that has liquid water, energy (a sun) and a life source, if it has that than it's certain there would be life but i would think it would not be any more than parasites and bacteria. Also, like you said, it would need an atmosphere and a good temparture, if someone says that there might be life on Mars, It cant be real because it doesnt have an atamosphere like Earth's, in fact it only has 1% of it so life on Mars is unable. If the creature is not something small like that, it would need brains, also, atleast one of our satelites would have spotted it. Some kind of reading would have been recorded like a high pitch screech.

Though it's very possible that aliens don't exist in the universe, I am one of the many people whom do believe in extraterrestrials. It is also possible that another race of humans live on another planet, given the fact that we don't know the exact history of the beginning of time. Aliens also don't necessarily have to be those fantasized three eyeballed green creatures. They can be something much more believable. As a kid, I never really thought of life outside in space. It seemed already so populated on Earth itself. As I grew older, I became more and more aware of the talk of extraterrestrial life. Thousands and thousands of books have been written on aliens, though all of them having their own point of view of the appearances of aliens. And perhaps one day, the stories will come true. It is incredibly possible that aliens will invade the earth hundreds of years from now, though it may seem kiddish and dumb.

I believe that if we are the only people in this vast universe, then it would be an aweful waste of space to quote a line from the movie "Contact". Yes I do believe other life forms exist somewhere in the universe. I think these life forms maybe as advanced if not more so than us, or they could be blobs of proteins and amino acids like the first organisms on Earth were. I think the way we classify the word life needs to be changed.

what is an alien? something that is foreign right? OK lets think about this, there is a galaxy out there with billions of stars and other planets along with suns and moons.although we would like to believe there is nothing else out there, we really don't know. i use to be one of those people that thought anyone who believed in aliens were dumb until i though about it.hummmmmmm.. why are there other planets out there?why is the galaxy infinite?why would earth be the only planet with population and life on it? if we were the only planet with life on it,then tell me why other planets exists? what's there purpose? not saying there are green men running around out there but, what makes earth special out of the 100 million miles of space that's out there?
think about it..

I think aliens do exist. I asked my mom and she said that she does to but they proably dont look like what everyone says like green skin, antennas, etc. They might look more normal than what we think!! My science teacher said they probably do exist in another galaxy, and if we discover so, great! But what if they eat ppl, like we eat chicken, then that is not so great.

I don't believe in peoples sterotypical of aliens in high tech spaceships. I think there is not any real intelligent life out there but little bacteria or something. but it's only my opinion go ahead and believe in what you want to believe in.
