I want to know approx. how much it would cost to repaint my 1983 Honda Nighthawk 450cc motorbike if I just painted it a solid color like black.

It really depends on the amount of work it takes to repair the body work. The body man I use, charges @ $100 a part. so a tank and 2 side covers would be $300. The Nighthawk I did was a real pain to strip the old paint off. It really isn't hard to do yourself. I've done it for under a hundred dollars easy You really do get what you for pay though. I got a tank,and 2 fenders done for $60 last summer, but the painter was painting a Friends car at the same time,and I did the prep. ask around the local auto body shops.you should find one that will work with you if you reasonable with them.

Painting is the easy part .BUT the prep is the
hard part.Sanding, with wet.and making sure
it's smooth to the tuch.This with all items off the frame.PRIME and sand.prime again.sand.
at this point you can spray any color you like.
Keep in mind that 450 is a part of your soul.It's
a part of your life.

hmmm.. im not sure but if it was one of the newer bikes im sure you could take out the fairings and switch them.. but with your bike im not sure. maybe if you can take you the fairings then paint them yourself of professionally.
