connection and I have fast internet connection....will the downloading speed be faster if I was downloading it for her on her computer by remote assistance or what?

No. Remote assistance only connects you to her computer.
If you are controlling her computer and downloading, you are using her internet connection to do so, not yours. Remote desktop just puts you in her computer seat. :)

Did anyone actually read her question??
She's downloading from her friends computer FOR her via Remote Desktop.

If you download it to your computer, it will download faster then if she does it remotely from her computer. But once downloaded, it still has to be transferred from your computer to your friends. That will take just as long as a remote download. So it really will not matter speed wise. But it will use less resources on your computer to do the download to it then the transfer.

when you trasfer the file from your computer to her computer you are using the same connection as she download from internet and will be slower because your upload speed will be limited.
broadband connection, slower upload faster download.

since she has a slow internet you wont gain any time factor, whether you download the thing in your compu and then transfer to hers thro remote assistamce.
