I just got a new computer, and want to take the best care of it, and i have a very loud stereo system behind it and want to know if thats bad. It vibrates my desk and when I put my hand on my computer, i can feel the vibrations through the case.

Vibrations are bad for computers. Some components, such as the head of the hard drive, have to be within less then a hairs distance from specific spots to work properly. So vibration could affect the drive. Plus over time it will loosen up screws, etc that could cause problems.

Vibration like that is not good for anything mechanical.

What dewcoons said is completely right. But what he didn't mention is that if your computer is too close to the speakers the magnets in the speakers could destroy the monitor/internal components.
