Charleston is an 8 beat dance that came before Lindy Hop. It was done to fast music and could either be danced in pairs or solo. Solo 20's Charleston videos can be found on you tube by looking for the Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown Solo Charleston Finals Contest or the Camp Jitterbug contest

For paired Charleston look at Kevin and Carla's GREAT Charleston DVD here: http://www.redwoodcityswing.com/dvd/dvdbrowse.php

Also, check out Sky and Frida's routine from Swing Out New Hampshire...

If you want to take some classes look at Lindy Hop workshops on www.yehoodi.com or just find any local lindy hoppers in your area and take a beginning class. They'll be happy to teach you Charleston.

it's from the twenties, this is kind of how it goes (basic step)

step, kick w/ other leg
step together, put your other leg down and lean to the floor

do that a few times and then theres some other stuff you do... depending on if ur a guy or a girl.
