I read in a science journal that the CO2 from a fart causes butterflys to die.

If that were in fact true my dog (Henry) would be classed as a W.M.D. for sure. He can peel the paint off walls and drop full grown men to their knees in tears with a single blow. Butterflies would be extinct.

Farts rarely ever release significant amounts of carbon dioxide.

So, no, a butterfly will be safe if you accidently fart on it. Good luck finding a butterfly that will be close enough to you for it to even be an issue.

No because when girls fart they fart butterflies so the balance is maintained.

If that is true (and I doubt it), most likely it is the methane killing it, not CO2. I have read about people that have suffocated because they had bad gas and not enough ventilation.
