okay... so i got i ps2 slim silver for christmas and i want to see if i can hook it up to my computer for online playing. to hook up the ps2 to pc, could i use an internet cord(like the one you hook from the modem to pc to jack)? and can i hook it up DIRECTLY from the ps2 to the pc with NO modems?

Yes, you can hook up a PS2 with a ethernet (RJ45) cable. It is pretty simple and easy to do.
It is better, however, to hook it up to a router which is hooked up to your modem. You can still use a wired connection, but it is simpler and easier for configuration this way than directly connected to a computer.
However, if you simply can't afford a router right now, then hooking up to a computer directly is a viable option. Think ahead for the future though and save for a router.

Yes you can but you have to have an installment Disc that comes with the Ps2 then after that,,,

what kind of modem do you have if it is a cable modem just put a cable like tv type cable to the back of the cable modem(if you have high speed internet)and plug the ethernet cable from your modem to your ps2 and pop in the instruction CD(Required)now if you have dsl modem i have no clue on what to do.
