Everyone who posted a Busa is right but only half way. The rider of any rocket can beat a squid on a Busa if he is better at launching his bike. A good driver can run low 10 second 1/4 miles no problem on a 600 while the average guy cannot touch that time even on a Busa or zx14.

I've seen the GSX/R 1000 beat the Busa and 14 in the 1/8th mile track. It really depends on the rider. The busa and 14 are know as great chase down bikes. 3rd and 4th gear are killers. So the 1000 can get the jump but by 4th gear the busa and 14 would be pulling you in.

watched people on Busas continually get beat by the honda blackbird 1100xx. The bird is so heavy on the nose that it can accelerate faster without picking up the front tire, unlike the Busa. But hey, maybe all those people on the Busa were squids.

Triumph Rocket III 2300cc has the low end power and torque to beat ALL the crotch rockets stop light to stop light. Now, in the 1/4 mile, the Busa is king....

All depends on how much weight the bike has to haul. 125lbs on a 600 will go faster than 300lbs on a 1000

mushki is correct, the rider is just as important if not more important than the bike (within reason of course). With my heavy, full dress touring bike I've left lighter, faster bikes behind.
