System Restore...usually not
Reformat and re-install of Windows... definitely yes...but a reformat causes loss of all your data.

Your entire system would have to be reformatted, and reinstal your platform.
You say that you have tried everthing. I really hope that you will consider this suggestion, before you go and do an entire system restore of your platform.
Please go to the link that I am going to give you and run a complete scan from the servers of Trend Micro House Calls. There is no conflict with your own antivirus. You will only be asked to install their active "X". That is 100% safe. Allow the entire scan to run.. Can take upto one hour, but well worth it, as the server will not only find viruses but spyware. When completed delete or destroy and you will be fine.

Please feel free to contact me if this does not work, before you perform a full system restore.
When you speak of a full system restore, the answer is No, because the virus or viruses will still be there.. Only if you remove your platform and reformat and reinstall the entire platform.

No, System Restores often restore viruses as well. When you've finished removing the virus, turn it off and back on so all your new ones are past the date of the virus. Download AVG Antivirus and scan your whole computer with that, then Spybot:Search and Destroy. They're both free programs.

If You Have a Internet Connection
Go to http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
This is A Free Virus Program and is the best, I put this on all computers I fix and all love it , after you download it schedule a boot scan this will go through your whole computer and remove it , This program works , I haven`t got a virus yet
Plus if you do get a potential virus Avast will let you know about it Norton`s & Mcafee don`t do that at all ,,,,,Try it out

What antivirus programs have you tried?
Does Everything, include Zone Alarm, McAfee, Norton, Avast, AVG?
Please discuss what you have tried and people will tell you other alternatives.
More advanced programs include Hijack this
and registry editing.
Have you identified the name of the virus with an antivirus porgram? That helps identify the steps for removal.
Geeks could probably do what it for $75 to $100.
Or give more information here and someone may be able to help you here.

if yer talking about the company installed restore, yes it should take you back to day one when you got the machine. but windows system restore will not help with bugs. all programs and files will be gone, should you company restore, likely thats what the geek squad will do. $100 bucks later and a couple days. if you dont know much about it, go to the companie's site that made the pc.

I recommend going to bleepingcomputer.com and registering. Then read the instructions for generating a "hijack this log". Then post the log and they will help you deal with the results.
