he's been gone for over a year, can I file for abandonment? what's the process, how long does it take?

I don't want any of his crap and he certainly isn't going to get anything from me, but knowing how it takes him forever to get simple things done, a legal battle would just take forever and mucho $$$ and I just want this done YESTERDAY.

p.s. the marriage was never consummated either, I'm working on the annullment too.

File for divorce with spouse missing. The county clerk will explain this to you but give them any info you do have on him or you will file a notice in the newspaper for 30 days and then the divorce proceeds unless he responds prior, but if he doesnt then youre awarded your petition with what you want.

Is he military? If so I don't think you can file for adandonment... unless there are certain circumstances but I still don't think so.

And where overseas? If he is deployed I heard (from a friend who is trying to file for divorce) that you can't file for divorce from a miltiary member that is about/currently deployed.

OK WELL MY PARENTS GOT A DIVORCE THE SAME WAY MY MOM FILED DIVORCE WHEN MY DAD WAS IN MEXICO. JUST GO TO COURT AND FILE IT HE DOESNT HAVE TO GO THEY WILL JUST DIVORCE YOU. AND IF IT WASNT CONSUMMATED THEN EVEN BETTER ITS AS IF YOU TWO WERE NOT MARRIED IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I'm sure there are plenty of attorneys in FL that could handle your case. Why not see one?
