I like many of their songs as well. I'm often cranking "Livin' Thing" on the road.

Jeff Lynne could write great songs. One of the few bands that could release more than the token 3 songs from most (not all of their albums) and could have or should have been hits.
After Discovery it seems they lost their fan base but Time, Secret Messages, and Zoom contained many catchy album cuts.

It's a rock band with an orchestra sound! What's not to love?
I love Jeff Lynne's signature 'fro' and glasses. And you can't forget his voice, my goodness...
I also read that whenever Tom Petty was in a pinch, he would call Jeff Lynne up on the phone and Lynne would fix the song for him.
I don't know if this is true, but my uncle told me that they don't tour anymore because when they did, someone tried to poison the whole band? Geesh.

Oh yeah, I loved them in the 70's
Roll Over Beethoven is an all time classic and loved their take on the Chuck Berry Classic!
Travelin Willberrys was a nice outlet for Jeff Lynne after they fractured ELO.

I was just thinking about them the other day - can't remember why, but yes, I like their music. Now it's gonna drive me crazy because I was listening to something that reminded me of them.... WHO WAS IT???
