Saw a large amount of blood on the tissue, and in the toilet after a bowl movement today. Also some discomfort or (pressure) in the rectal area, even when I don't have to go, but always feel as though I have to.

Most GI bleeds are as a result of hemorrhoids. If it's bright red blood ("new blood"), you can bet on hemorrhoids... if dark blood/black-ish stools, that means the bleed is further up in the intestines ("old blood"), and you should probably consult your doctor. But the discomfort in the rectal area almost convinces me that you have hemorrhoids! There are some over-the-counter ointments (such as Tucks). Try to increase fiber in your diet, or even take fiber supplements... this will make your stools softer and also decrease the discomfort you're experiencing. Good luck!

Rectal bleeding should always be checked by a doctor immediately. It could be just a case of gastroenteritis or acute colitis or it could be hemorrhoids, polyps, diverticulosis, diverticulitis, etc
One thing I can tell you is that any abnormal bleeding coming out of our bodies should not be taking lightly.

Go see a doctor! It could be hemorrhoids, tumor, etc., but you need to have a doctor look at it. Good Luck!

I had the same problem about 2 years ago, finally my lady won out and I went to the Dr. Bowel Cancer was the result. Stupidity prevented me going to the Dr sooner.

Maybe hemorrhoids or a fissure (small tear). Of course it can be intestinal. See your doctor.

It could be anything from something mild to something very serious. You need to see a gastrointerologist, soon.
