If so, can you tell me why variations in the Sun aren't considered?
Or why they thought there was going to be an Ice Age in the mid 70s?
Or why, since we cooled from the 40s to the 70s and then warmed from the 70s until today, you don't think we are about to start cooling again?
How about, why has Mars warmed up also?

Do you know that computer models are only as good as the data we put in them? And that without accurate weather data they drift toward cooling or heating up?

I know most of you are smart people so I would like to know how it is that you ingore things like this and instead listen to certain people without questioning them?

I would not abandon my beach home and seek higher ground just yet.

For those who think they have read or seen definitive proof somewhere or who think only people who believe in conspiracies do not accept MMGW as reality ask yourselves this one simple question:

If it is true, why are the supporters doing everything they can to discredit, de-certify and shut up those who disagree with them?

The skeptics are not trying to shut anyone up, are they? The skeptics are not trying to have anyones credentials taken away are they? The skeptics are not refusing to answer questions are they? The skeptics are not refusing to have their work peer reviewed, are they?

Doesn't that make you a bit suspicious of the people who are claiming that man is causing global warming?

Any scientist who tries to tell you that the way to prove a theory is to forbid anyone to ask questions about it is a bold faced liar. The only way to prove a theory valid is to do absolutely everything possible to disprove it. It must be subjected to the harshest most rigorous testing and parsing and analysis all of which fails to disprove it before it is considered valid.

Consensus has positively, absolutely no place in the process. For many centuries the consensus among all scientists was that the world was flat. All it took to toss all of their opinions in the trash was one scientist with a fact. When it comes to Man Made Global Warming, facts take a holiday.

Well sure, I also think that termites help to regulate the oxygen levels in the planet.

Look it's not like we are all a bunch of earth hating, none forward thinking monsters who don't care about the planet.

I don't want to live on or leave behind an earth covered in garbage and without resources, but people need to look at the data themselves and not the fake graphs of someone with the idea that if they tax you it will save the earth!

Lets look at truth, the truth is we don't really know what effect humans are having on the earth but it's not the amount they are telling us. It is Minor compared to what the sun is doing and unless you think humans are controlling the sun now I think we can safely say it's not this fast moving scary train that "some people" are trying to make it out to be.

We have the time to do real research not paid for the answer theories that they keep cramming down our throats.

This series of questions belongs in the science section. You are asking empirical questions that have empirical answers. It has nothing to do with whether you are liberal or conservative or otherwise.

1) variations in the sun are considered. They do not play a significant role in warming on earth.

2) "they" meaning the majority of scientists did not think there was going to be an ice age. That position was supported by a minority of scientists.

3) We did not cool from the 40s to the 70s. There were some cooling periods due to volcanic eruptions that blocked much sunlight.

4) Mars does not have an atmosphere and therefore slight changes in sunlight intensity will significantly affect surface temperature on Mars.

5) Computer models today do not rely on temperature input data. Nor is the inference of man made global warming based on computer models. Computer models forcast the consequences and extent of warming, not if it occurs.

You do understand that virtually every peer-reviewed scientific paper supports anthropogenic global warming right? I am sure you found some great website that spouts some political crap like the misinformation in your questions. But believe it or not, actual scientists do science better than poiticians.

I really do believe in man-made environmental damage caused by man-made pollution, call it global warming or mickey mouse poo, it still has to be reduced.
as far as your little comments, about climate models, I think you better do some more research. parameters are set in those programs by observation each day. each data set that is entered tweaks the predictions a little closer every time. The closer predictions get for the near future, the distant future looks worse.

Your type, did the exact same thing, when the "libs" suggested cigarette smoking caused lung cancer:
"if we ban cigarettes, it will destroy the economy."
"there is no scientific evidence that links cigarette smoking to lung cancer!"
"It is only a hoax that smoking causes lung cancer!"
etc etc

See any pattern? See any link?

Some time back these same wackos were pushing fears of mankind causing the next ice age. The previous ice ages that happened thousands of years ago apparently were caused by emissions from Fred Flintstones car!

Now Komrad Al "I invented the internet" Gore found a new way to make money, so he invented "Global Warming". This leftie is making millions of $$$$$$$'s off his latest invention, and the left is embracing him for it. Don't they know that this is so wrong for a socialist to make money from a capitalist venture (shouldn't he be re-distributing his wealth to others!).

I believe in man-made global warming as much as I believe in the theory of evolution. I haven't conducted my own tests, nor will I, but well-accepted scientific theories don't usually evoke any suspicion from me. It makes sense to me, a relatively uneducated person in science, that as we continue to pump greenhouse gases into the sky, the greenhouse effect will occur.
It is what it is: a theory that happens to be supported by the majority of the scientific community. Could it be proven wrong in the future? Sure, biological racism was. But in this case, isn't it better to limit our pollution either way?

I think it has it's part. It's practically undeniable that humans have had some impact on the ecology and climate of Earth, though the controversy is about how much and the effects (which is again an argument if GW is one of those effects).

as I said earlier the NWO hijacked the environmental movement at the Rio Earth Summit in 1992 which produced 'Agenda 21' the NWO's "Mein Kampf" for the 21 Century.
it goes back to the ideas set forth by the NWO Round Table Organization "The Club of Rome" in 1968.

one of the main goals is the 'culling' of "useless eaters" i.e. 5.5 billion of the world's population - this endorsed by the likes of the New Age fascist loons like Prince Charles and Canadian Solar Temple Cult founder and media mogul Maurice Strong.

don't be taken in by the hype, this being generated is a very sinister outfit.

BTW that doesn't mean there isn't huge environmental issues -just that the NWO is abusing the cause for their owwn ends.

It is a Liberal myth to further their scare tactic agenda. Poor Al Gore, now the temperature in Barrow has risen 1 degree since 1990....now what?

global warming is the biggest load of BS i've heard in a long time. we can't predict the weather 10 days in advance let alone 10 years. i think it's very important to protect the environment as much as we can, but as for protecting it against global warming...no way!
