Does anyone have any experience using the swiss franc in other coutries besides Switzerland and France? I was wondering if anyone knows whether it is acceptable currency on the streets of Italy, or do you have to go to a bank to get it exchanged? I know they aren't worth much, but I have almost 10 "dollars" worth of swiss francs that i need to get rid of and i'm going to italy and only have about 5 euros in my posession. thanks.

Exchange those francs for Euros as you will have a LOT of trouble trying to spend them. Go to a Bureaux De Change (less commission) with your currency and your passport and exchange them. They are not going to be worth the hassle.

Try to find an exchange place that claims not to charge a fee.
If you have to pay the flat fee you loose almost half the value of the coins.
