Dell laptop screen goes black on startup?

Ok well i have a dell inspiron 6000. About days ago the screen would just go black when the computer is on. You can still see all the icons and stuff its just like the brightness went away. Now on startup my screen goes black i can see the dell image and the screen goes black i can still see it startup but very dark like there is no brightness. The laptop is not overheating either.

please do not post stuff like "dell sucks"

The backlight is out.

Replace LCD on Ebay. Almost impossible replace backlight.
