Is he Christian or Muslim? I found out that his middle name is Hussein which is usually a Muslim name so I thought he was Muslim but somebody else told me he was Christian. Is Hussein really his middle name? Is he a Christian person who converted to Islam or a Muslim person who converted to Christianity or did he never convert?

He comes from a Muslim background. His father was raised Muslim but he became an atheist when he was a college student. Obama was never raised as a Muslim but he was never raised in any religion. It wasn't until the mid-80s he became a Christian. He is a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. His real name is Hussein. Not his fault, he didn't have a choice in that matter.

Obama wasn't raised with any particular religion. His mother came from a Christian family, his father was raised a Muslim in Kenya, but didn't raise Barack. Barack Obama has been a member of United Church of Christ for over twenty years.
And, yes, his middle name is Hussein.
None of this has much bearing on him being the smartest, most thoughtful, most sincere presidential candidate of the whole lot. But he is.

Barack Obama's dad converted into the Muslim religion therefore Obama was born and raised into it. However, his dad stopped believing and became an atheist, and Barack converted to Christianity. He is a Christian.

Hussein is a very common name in the Middle East. His father was Muslim, but he's Christian.
Read the Constitution. Notice that there is NO religious requirement for the office of president.
Notice the First Amendment.

Barack Obama is either a Muslim or a Christian. If Christian, he is prone to be a Catholic, although could be a protestant. Hopefully he isn't lying and is a Christian.

He's a practicing Christian, he has never been a muslim, with that being said, his father his 100% Kenyan, and Hussein is an arabic name that was given to him by his father, he's actually a junior. even his father wasn't a muslim. plus it really should not matter, but thats a whole different case, people are so biased, I know their real problem is with his race, but they know they'll get lebelled a "racist" so they want to attack his religion.

his mum was also a Christian and his dad was a Muslim born atheist.
i don't know abt his step dad though.his step dad was from Indonesia , so i guess he was a Muslim
anyways, religion should not be a matter here.

The last I heard United Church of Christ was and is Christian. Get his books and read them. He clearly explains the religion thing.

Obama was named for his father, who was from Kenya. Hussein is a common name there. Obama is a Christain (Congregationalist, I think) and was raised as a Christian.
