It has nothing to do with age. Your teacher MIGHT be talking about the PSAT, which is what many sophomores take in preparation for the SAT.
Most students take the SAT in their Junior year, and some people retake them again.

Don't worry. I have never heard of any age limits for taking the test. Usually, students are 16 years old when they reach their junior year of high school, which is the best year to take the standardized tests, like the SAT. I took the SAT during the 1st semester of my senior year, and I was 17.

No, a lot of people take the SAT during their senior years which is around 17 or 18. I haven't taken mine yet, and I'm a junior. Don't worry. You still have time.

You can take it at any age - even as a 50 year old adult who is married and has 4 kids at home. There is no age limit. All your SAT answers can be found at www.collegeboard.com.

There is no rule about when you have to take it (I'm retaking it 3 weeks after my 18th birthday to get extra scholarship money) - nobody cares. The best time to take it however is junior year.

There is no age limit but you should start taking them soon so you can take it several times before you need to apply for college.

Probably that is fine. Both me and my friend are taking the SAT test this year and I am twelve and she is 13.

You can take it reallly any age if you want to. But if you're a Junior in HS I would suggest taking it now so you can send your transcripts and results to the Colleges you want to go to. But yeah you can take it at 17. You don't HAVE to take it now if you don't want.

okay, here's how it goes.
most of my friends (me included) took it at age 17 or 18 (a few of them were 16, but they were the young ones in my class). many of my friends took it multiple times at 17 or 18. you can take it as many times during your senior year.
many of my friends that took it at 17 or 18 were accepted into harvard, yale, UCLA, etc.
