and he lives far away so I want to have something near me always as a constant reminder of him, so my question is would it be wrong to name one of my pups after him :-??

Not his real name of course but his nickname...If I could have more kids and I had a boy I think I would honor my friend that way but since I can't I thought the next best thing would be my pups since I see them as my little ones...so would it be ok or is that a no no :-/

LOL! .... I think you should name both of those puppies after him!

I have it on good authority that he would really enjoy that honor!

It must be a fine pup, indeed, to warrant such an honour. ;-)

And yes, it is perfectly okay to name it Gazpacho.
