I just got a new laptop and everything works except for COD4. It is too laggy to play, because movement is very choppy in both single and multiplayer modes. This is the laptop I got:

And here are the specs (copied them from the box):

802 11b/g WLAN
LightScribe Super Multi 8X DVD+RW with Double Layer Support

ExpressCard/54 PC Card Slot
nVidia GeForce 7150M with shared graphics memory
5-in-1 Digital Media Reader

Why is Call of Duty 4 lagging so much? Any help appreciated. Thanks.

It is mainly because of your slow 7150M integrated graphics. The best you can do is allocate maximum shared memory for graphics, play at low resolution and lowest game quality settings. Lowering color quality to from 32 to 16bit sometimes helps. If this does not work, just play CoD4 on a desktop with a better graphics card.

you can try playing it on lowest settings.

Also, exit any processes that are running concurrently before you start the game.

karz is right though.. its your graphics chipset thats the culprit. Not a lot you can do except the allocation thing and the stuff above. When you buy a laptop for gaming the gpu is the thing you have to watch.

hhmm.... I blame Vista!!! I've got a laptop with specs half as good as yours and it runs CoD4 fine.... Though I've noticed that some laptops just suck at playing games.

Maybe try lowering the graphics

ncie laptop by the way... Here in South Africa that would cost about 1400 U.S Dollars

oh one last thing... if you got the game pirated, it could just be a damaged copy

Try updating your nVidia drivers. all so lower the resolution screen size in the game. Laptops have never been that great for playing games.

In the bios you should be able to tell the system how much memory to share with the video card. I would turn that amount up.
