I have an HP pavillion and I love it. The link I provided isn't the exact same one as I have but it is very similar. It has a 200gb hard drive and upgradeable to 4 gb ram. The first link, below, will bring you to a HP notebook on a Circuit City website. It probably is as good a value, as you will find in a laptop. However, this is a large one. I have found women prefer smaller ones, particularly if they are going to carry it a lot.
The second link will bring you to a laptop at Best Buy. It is a bit more expensive. However, it is probably more suited to your needs.
The third link is to HP's website. It is a good place to get detailed specifications, allowing you to make side by side comparisons.
The last link is for making price comparisons. You can also purchase laptops there.
Lastly, I am partial to HP computer products, they appear to be a good value. However, I have also purchase Dell laptops and Sony desktops, and have no complaints.
