Is NY a 50/50 dispersement of property or if one seeks councile w/out knowledge of forthcomming proceeding screwed?

Unbeknownest to me when I wanted to go visit family &seek advice,she stole everything from home while away 4 days. Did not know she had intent of filing. Had problems, but nothing said about divorce. Then get message from Att. wanting house,support,etc. LOST EVERYTHING.

If youre asking if New York is a community property state; No its not. Nothing is over til its over so anything can happen if you want it bad enough and believe

ny is a 50/50 disbursment state.
i went through my divorce and did not hire a lawyer for it,but rather did it myself on grounds of abandonment.
i got half of everything
there was 2 vehicles - so we each took are own
there was a house. I didnt want to live in it and he wanted to keep it - it was ordered to be sold and the money split 50/50.
you have to stand up for your rights or you will be screwed

my husband toled his laweryer he wanted out and said he moved back home. He never did and my divorse is over. he lelt town with his coucin he has sex with. do I need to starte all over again
