i got my sisters old laptop and i need to clear all of her stuff out of it. is there an easy way to do this?

Low level format the hard drive then install your preferred operating system.

By reinstalling Windows you will blow away programs that you may want. I suggest doing a few things:
Find her Documents folder and delete the contents.
Do a search (Start>search) for pictures, music and videos and delete all of this.
Download Adaware from www.lavasoft.com and run it to get rid of all old spyware.
Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools>Internet Options to delete her internet temp files and surfing history
Do all of this and it will be pretty clean.

Call a pro.. i think thats the easiest ways. They have the machines and tools and knowledge to do it. Just tell them you want everything cleaned out, or however you want it...
Because they can reformat everything. So basically you tell them what u want to keep, they hook up ur comp. to this small machine thingy, they convert the stuff you want to keep (Windows, essentials, and whatever you want) they wipe out ur whole computer (i dunno how they do it.. thats why i said call a pro) and then they convert the essentials back to your computer.... thats it

yes install windows from a cd
start the computer and then boot from cd and then fromat the drive delteing all files
