I always thought that the liberals were more artsy and creative, but I sure haven't ever seen that in any of their responses. Maybe they are just more artsy when it comes to interior decorating, or fashion, or acting, or whatever other non-productive careers they have, but aren't so creative when it comes to humor, wit, or use of the English language.

So far the responses are proving my point. To clarify, all liberal responses to all conservative questions are that it's Bush's fault. He made us have a housing slump, he went to Iraq for oil, he's making money from Halliburton...and so on and so on. Even fun questions that give opportunity for humor get the same "I hate Bush" responses. Where's the creativity?

How ironic that Liberals used to be creative, but not anymore.

Liberals ushered in the 1960's social revolution. They have had, and continue to have, a profound influence in the arts.

However, when it comes to political ideas and eloquence in conveying these ideas, Liberals are shockingly untalented. Compare someone like the über-Liberal Al Franken with Bill O'Reilly. Franken can't hold peoples' attention for long because he's a one-trick pony; just a bunch of immature rants. People soon tire of this. However, O'Reilly's news analysis is compelling, his delivery is gripping, and his breadth of knowledge is astounding. Compare Newt Gingrich, an amazing orator, with some tired old windbag like Senator Edward Kennedy. The comparison is embarrassing.

Compare the books written by Conservatives who lampoon Liberals, with those written by Liberals, attempting to ridicule Conservatives. The Conservative books are smash successes, while the Liberal books swell the discount bins.

Part of the great discrepancy is that the Liberals simply don't have much to say that is compelling. They whine, and mope, and grouse, but they don't come up with any solutions, other than tired old Socialist rhetoric.

Here's the difference in a nutshell: Liberals excel at being creative in an imaginary world. Hence, they are good actors. Their strong suit is creating fantasy.

Conservatives thrive by living in the harsh light of reality. Liberals run from reality like vampires from sunlight.

I rarely read other responses before I type my own, but I just have to say in response to Pachl that I am a liberal and I don't run from the light of reality--that's my cousin who does that. I, myself, run from water, because it makes me MELT! I would prefer to have been able to keep that detail from others, but that little b**** in the red shoes exposed my secret. Oh well, I still have my flying monkeys...

I think that the problem you are talking about is not a liberal one, at least not in the context of Y!A. It's a problem across the board, so to speak, in the political forum. Everyone is so busy flinging crap at those they disagree with that they don't take the time or the effort to see the funny parts of life and politics. And believe me, politics, if you have the right frame of mind, is a hilarious topic, especially in the US, where we all take ourselves so seriously that we seem to believe that every word which drops from our mouths is a pearl of wisdom worthy of a...well...of a really nice pearl necklace, I guess. (I am talking the "He went to Jared" kind of pearls, not the "He went to Walgreen's" type of pearls.)

I kind of try to stay away from this forum because theres only so much mud slinging and wading through sh!t a girl can take. I mean, I have my standards, and I gotta think about my shoes!

The reality is that this is about the worst type of set up for any meaningful political debate. Yes, it's worse than an elementary school gymnasium--at least in a gym you can talk back and have some give and take. There's no way to do that in this forum--it would be easier if we were all sitting around in a room together.

And don't forget that you cannot judge all libs or all cons by what a few say or write or do. We're all different.

Now can't we all just get along?

It has nothing to do with the current politicians in your country alone, your opinion seems to be purely through the eyes of an American and not through the eyes of a global citizen. When examining the literal definitions of liberal and conservative, Liberal means "Open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values", whereas conservative means "A person who is averse to change and holds to traditional values and attitudes" So basically, cons try to stop libs from changing society but ultimately fail and end up holding onto new traditions, in the same way the you once fought for slave labour and now fight for purely heterosexual marriage. That is what the person asking the original question meant and that is why conservatives are not innovative or creative.

While I don't see how your view on politics is exactly what your creativity level is based off of, from what I've read on here, neither liberals or conservatives are very creative with their responses. Unless by some chance one calls partisan accusations creative, of course.

It undoubtedly goes both ways. Both sides fail at trying to be witty/creative, and that's mostly because wit and creativity in politics should be the last priority when coming up with your opinions. What do we want this country to become? A circus?

You know, I am only saying this because you made a claim without providing any substantial justification. But, if you look at the national numbers, liberals are more educated when compared to conservatives. Basically, don't start fights you can't win.

Further, I agree, some conservatives are more creative than any other group; with their creationist stories, denying scientific truth, and projecting their beliefs onto an acute definition of a higher power.

If you like childish stories and uneducated beliefs, you are definitely in the right camp; the camp of blasphemous creativity.

You certainly are creative -- at generalizing, focusing on the worst answers and ignoring the good ones.

Oh, I see you though the limp wrist joke was funny and creative -- I guess you never heard Ann Coulter or Rush Limbaugh making the same kind of jokes for the past ten years...

Don't see any creativeness about your question, lit alone humor or wit, please now don't go out and start a war because of what I said.

as long as it makes a liberal feel good..they can be anything they imagine they are..

I wish they could lose the nasty demeanor..

and the inability to face the reality..they don't matter to anyone but themselves..

commiserating here does nothing but illustrate a real lack of creativity..creativity is rarely spawned from negativity..unless it is over on the evil side of the spectrum
