ok when i got up my computer said network cable unpluged but everything is pluged in?

yes everything is pluged in but i have a router and that works just fine do i need a new modem? i had it about 2 to 3 years please help me

go to device manager and make sure everything is installed,that happened to me once I had to go to hardware and reinstall the ethernet hardware,if that doesn't work go to network settings and enable your network cable

You might need a new cable. Swap out the ones you have before going all out on some new hardware.
