I mean as far as accuracy, not entertainment.

I have watched Digging for the Truth. I've found its good, as entertainment....scientific? No...accurate, within limits.
This program is designed for people who have a passing interest in archeology. It gives them a few facts, with a lot of hype, and they come away feeling they know a bit more. It's great for kids...gets them interested. Its good for adults who don't have the time for deeper inquiry.
All in all? I'd say a 7 out of 10.

The Naked Archaeologist had some parts of his programs that looked really good..then the closer I listened, the more it appeared he was trying to appeal to sensationalism.

Then when I watched Simcha Jacobovici's special on the Lost Tomb of Jesus..it simply did not add up as some of the things he said appeared not to match with what I'd read elsewhere about certain artifacts. My suspicions were confirmed when Ted Koppel aired his investigation of THE LOST TOMB OF JESUS: A CRITICAL LOOK..that exposed the exaggerations and in a few instances, fabrications made to support a few incredulous claims.

I was very disappointed because Simcha Jacobovici appears to have had a past record of being respected.

I am rather pressed for time at the moment..but I'm sure if you use a search engine you could find the transcript for the show on the internet or an article detailing the report.
I turned this up with a quick google http://www.christianpost.com/article/20070307/26181_'Jesus_Tomb'_Panelists_Point_to_Holes_in_Director's_'Archaeoporn'.htm

They are 'pop science' for an audience that has a curiosity about archaeology and history but no real knowledge or depth of interest/experience . They are reasonably accurate from what I have seen but there is much more , of course, to the topics than the programs cover.

For Science, for Fact; NOT AT ALL.

For the common masses to get them interested in history & archaeology- probably.
