What is the best way to increase humidity in my house during winter?

You can add a humidifier to some furnaces. You can put a pan of water on or near your heating vents. You can put a pan of water on the stove on low heat.

Add a humidifier to your furnace =$300, but a small free standing unit=$45., put a pan of water on the vents=$0.00, thats my choice!

What Luckyone said, or you could buy a portable humidifier and simply plug it into a wall receptical. Just fill with water and turn it on.
