I live in NM...not a party state at all, but if you like nice natural scenery, we have plenty..from white sands(White Sands Missile Base) to the valley of the fires (near Truth or Consequences), ancient cliff dwellings (Silver City), to the History of Billy the Kid and Smokey the Bear (lincoln and Capitan, to Carlsbad Caverns and Roswell. it requires a lot of hours in a car, but they are all scenic beauty.

also lived in
FL- Ft Lauderdale go to the beach, take in a spring training baseball game
NC- the Outer Banks has some beautiful lighthouses, and Kitty Hawk home of the Wright Brothers 1st flight
NJ- plenty of Revolutionary War history( Princeton, Washington Crossings, Monmouth), Boardwalks in Seaside, Atlantic City, or Wildwood,

New Jersey.
It's kind of small, so it's easy to travel to places like NY and Rhode Island and stuff earlier.
And the weather.
