First--some celebrities started out very young, like Kate and Ashley. They necessarily didn't have high IQ's then, and they are still suffering from that typecasting.
Second--I'd sooner bet that intelligence can bring celebrity than celebrity can give one intelligence. It's true that the higher circles you move in, the more leverage and contacts you have to find out about things that average people don't know--sort of like celebrities are a secret society or something, and probably have initiation rituals and oaths and all that; but being a celebrity ain't rocket science.

Some of them are very intelligent who perform,write music and have given much pleasure to the public eg ; Andrew lloyd Webber, others are as thick as two short planks and are only celebs for being on reallity shows or marrying someone famous.

No way. You dont need brains to get in the papers these days. Some of the so called celebrities are only famous for being rich, someones girl/boyfriend, being on reality shows and other such undeserved reasons.

Technically everyone is intelligent. Just not always very smart. I know acting and learning lines are hard, so I would have to say the largest portion of them are, though not all. They are however trainable!

Absolutely not! I have worked with a few. Most were normal, one or two were a bit dim, bless them! I think that they are just lucky to have been in the right place at the right time, with the right management to get them the money they earn.
