again, with the shops all open again, transport running normally. Are you like me and cant buy presents for anyone any year as finances wont allow it,and are stuck at home no family or friends to see, nothing but repeats on Sky tv,and just basically bored stiff and fed up,as theres no where to go,nothing to do.I find it an extremely boring and depressing time of the year.Cant visit family at christmastime as they are all out visiting over christmas,so anyone else feel the same as me,and are just thankful to see the back of christmas and the new year holidays.jenni uk

Yes I hate the run up to Christmas, all the stress, the pressure, the shopping most of all - yes even though I'm a woman !
This year I was backed into in a car park, when I pointed this out to the driver he told me I should have been walking on the pavement ! (Which was littered with trollies anyway).
I hate the expectancy to share it with loved ones, tho I'm single, but had my lovely children with me this year.
Its also my birthday just after Christmas so that always gets a v low priority.
But anyway I got over all the stresses this year, put the tree up just as the kids arrived 10am Christmas Day, went to my sisters and had a lovely time.
Just my birthday to get through now!

Hello,
(ANS) ABSOLUTELY!! as an Atheist I hate the assumption that everyone is Christian and should love Xmas. That everyone has a family & that we should ALL play happy families (more mythology & self deceptions).
I couldn't agree more, now that I'm NOT seven years old and no longer believe the lies & deceptions of Father Christmas. I just find the whole thing depressing as its just an excuse for excessive meaningless consumerism.
Always glad to have survived the whole awful experience with my sanity in tact, glad too when the hype of the new year is over and I can forget the whole fiasco for another 12months. Funny old culture we live in??
Best Wishes to you From Ivan

Actually, I do not hate Christmas but I do not celebrate, haven't in over twenty years. I may get an occasion visitor or phone call, etc. As finding Christmas depressing, I myself do not get depressed but find the concept depressing as society is miserable, greedy, and selfish in spending on gifts and not recognising the holiday for what it is.

Eff you guys and your 'long distance relationships don't work' bull crap. I was in one, then I moved to be with him and now we're married. We've been together over 3 years. It can work, but I totally feel you on the hate part.

Hear, hear. I hate the traffic downtown, the shopping frenzy, and everything was closed yesterday. I hate the Xmas music they pipe into my work...I bring my headphones and listen to Nick Cave instead. Ha ha.
You're not alone...Christmas sucks. Celebrate the solstice and the new year instead.
